The European Prosecution Service alleged wrongdoing by six individuals from the municipality of Nowy Sącz. Four of them are public officials working at the town hall.
Contents of the Charges
They are accused of abusing authority and causing damage to the public interest amounting to 600 000 euro.
Background Investigation
The Central Anti‑Corruption Bureau had already arrested the mayor, Ludomir Handzel, and deputy mayor Artur Bochenek earlier in the week. The arrests occurred on Tuesday morning in the city hall.
Recent Arrests
On October 23 the European Prosecutor’s Office formally charged the six arrested persons. Police confirmed that the suspects had already heard the accusations.
