Kaczyński Discusses Alliances
In his opening address, Kaczyński emphasized security and foreign policy, proposing additional NATO‑aligned alliances that would “include not only Poland but also countries north‑east of us such as the Baltic states, perhaps the south, and Scandinavian nations.” He noted Scandinavia’s 20 million‑strong population and high GDP as a strong economic base, mentioning Denmark’s historical ambitions for nuclear weapons in the 1960s as a sign of development level, and stated the proposed alliance would be “a substantially powerful force.”
