Wola Hotel Murder: Belarusian Eryk Piatrou Wanted on Warrant After Strangling Young Woman in Bathtub

Belarusian national Eryk Piatrou is sought by Polish authorities for the murder of accountant Izabela R.-H. in a Warsaw hotel on 16 October 2023.

Murder Details

Police determined that the 28‑year‑old accountant Izabela R.-H. was strangled in a bathtub at a hotel in Warsaw’s Wola district. Her body was discovered on 18 October 2023 after she had been missing since 13 October. Forensic experts concluded the death resulted from a loop strangulation mechanism that caused sudden asphyxiation.

Investigation and Charge

The District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw charged Belarusian citizen Eryk Piatrou, a national of Belarus, with murder, following a multi‑month inquiry that linked him to the crime. The suspect fled Poland immediately after the murder and is believed to be in Belarus. The Mokotów District Court issued a warrant for his temporary arrest and ordered an arrest warrant to be issued.
