President Nawrocki Quits Belweder, Plans Move to New Palace

President Karol Nawrocki announced in late October that he and his family are relocating from Belweder to the renovated apartment at the Krakowskie Przedmieście presidential palace, with the move slated for November.

President’s Relocation

On Friday, Oct. 24, Fakt reported that the renovation of the apartment at the Presidential Palace on Krakowskie Przedmieście was finished. President Karol Nawrocki, who moved into Belweder with his family on Aug. 6 following his inauguration, plans to relocate to the new residence in November, completing the move within 2–3 weeks.

The 200‑square‑meter apartment will include a kitchen with dining area and a presidential office, offering ample space for the family’s domestic and official needs.

New Palace Awaits Family

The future residence, which is set to become Nawrocki’s home, was previously occupied by former President Andrzej Duda for ten years, as well as his wife Agata Kornhauser‑Duda, who moved into the city of Kraków in 2015 and only joined them in the capital five years later.

Bronisław Komorowski, Nawrocki’s predecessor, never lived in the Krakowskie Przedmieście building and also resided in Belweder with his family.

2025 Presidential Election

On Aug. 6, the National Assembly confirmed Karol Nawrocki’s oath of office after he won the 2025 presidential election, securing 370,000 more votes than runner‑up Rafał Trzaskowski.

He embarked on his first international visit to the United States, where he was received at the White House by President Donald Trump, and later travelled to Italy, meeting with President Sergio Mattarella, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and Pope Leo XIV.

First Month in Office

During his inaugural month, Nawrocki signed 31 laws and vetoed seven. The legislation included measures on aid for Ukrainians, an energy price‑stabilization act, and an amendment to the law on combating sexual‑crime threats and protecting minors, known as the “lex Kamilek.”
