A 58‑year‑old man in Piaseczno was arrested for a 21 km/h speeding offence, only to be discovered lacking a licence and carrying six active driving bans, leading to a prison sentence.
Speeding Offence Sets Off a Chain Reaction
He was pulled over for exceeding the speed limit by 21 km/h on Słoneczna Street in Piaseczno. The inspection revealed that he had never held a driving licence and instead possessed six active driving bans, one of which remains enforceable until 2040.
Multiple Court Driving Bans Linger
A court driving ban prohibits the holder from operating any vehicle; it is imposed when the judge deems the violations sufficiently severe to remove driving privileges permanently. The 58‑year‑old had six such bans, proving past serious infractions that posed a danger to other road users.
Criminal Charges and Recidivism
Following the speeding stop, he was charged with non‑compliance with the imposed penal measures, a violation committed in a recidivist context. Under Polish law, Article 244 of the Criminal Code imposes a harsher penalty for recidivists.
Prison Term Imposed
He is sentenced to two years and six months in prison, where he will serve his custodial sentence.
Case Oversight
The proceedings are overseen by the Piaseczno District Prosecutor’s Office.
