Army Issues Mobilization Cards, Refusal Punished Severely

Polish armed forces are sending yearly mobilization cards to eligible citizens, emphasizing that refusal may lead to up to five years of imprisonment, according to the law.

Who Receives Mobilization Cards

The Military Recruitment Centers annually distribute mobilization cards to individuals who could be called up for active duty in case of threat. These cards are part of readiness measures and are not an announcement of mobilisation or war.

Failing to report to military service within the specified time and place during mobilisation or war exposes the individual to imprisonment of no less than three years, as stipulated by the Defence Act. Those who, for instance, inflict bodily harm upon themselves or others, or who falsify documents to obtain exemption from service, face imprisonment of at least five years.

Who Is Eligible to Receive a Card

Eligible recipients include adult men up to 60 years old and women possessing relevant qualifications. Additionally, individuals with military experience, specialists in medicine, logistics, IT, communications, armed forces officers, and civilians designated to support public administration, the energy sector, or transport are also included.
