Polish Poll Pushes Former President to Face Future

A new poll released on 21‑22 October 2025 found 55 % of Poles believe former president Andrzej Duda should no longer play a role in national politics, while 29.3 % disagree and 15.7 % are undecided.

Poll Shows Majority Oppose Duda’s Return

On 21‑22 October 2025, a SW Research study of 800 internet users aged 18 and older found that 55 % of Poles think former president Andrzej Duda should no longer participate in national politics. A further 29.3 % disagreed, and 15.7 % had no opinion.

Opposition Strongest Among Women, Older, and Educated

Vice‑president Piotr Zimolzaka noted that resistance to Duda’s political return was most pronounced among women (58 %), people over 50 years old (63 %), and those with higher education (62 %). The largest number of opponents lived in cities with 100‑199 k residents.

Duda Appointed to ZEN.com Board

On 6 August 2025, Duda concluded his second presidential term and joined the supervisory board of fintech ZEN.com, where he will oversee security and regulatory relations in foreign markets. Duda said the collaboration would support the growth of Polish entrepreneurship in the modern financial sector.

Duda to Host Programme on Kanale Zero

The former president has also agreed to produce a program for the Canal Zero channel, sharing selected moments from his two presidencies. It is unclear whether he intends to remain involved for a long time; several episodes featuring his reflections have been announced.

Mastalerek Denies Duda’s Right‑Wing Leadership Rumors

Late in his second term, speculation arose that Duda might become a right‑wing leader or cabinet candidate in a future PiS government. Marcin Mastalerek, former chief of Duda’s cabinet, dismissed these rumours, saying he cannot envision the former president becoming a party activist and right‑wing leader after leaving office.
