2026 World Cup Qualifiers at PGE Narodowy – Poland vs Netherlands on Friday at 20:45

Poland will host the Netherlands in a 2026 World Cup qualifier on Friday, 14 November, at 20:45, triggering extensive traffic and transit restrictions around the PGE Narodowy stadium.

Pre‑match road closures begin at 18:30

According to Warsaw City Hall and the Municipal Transport Board, key congestion will start at 18:30. Entrance to Saska Kepa will be limited until 20:45.

The cordon will cover Poniatowski Avenue, Washington Avenue, Międzynarodowa Street, United States Avenue, Miedzeszyn Wall Street, as well as parts of United States Avenue and African and Bora‑Komorowski Streets.

Restricted access to Saska Kepa

Traffic will be allowed only for Warsaw Public Transport buses, SK ID holders for Saska Kepa, taxis, and single‑wheel vehicles.

Other drivers must use detours set by police and city services.

Bus, tram and metro adjustments during the match

Depending on traffic, other streets surrounding the stadium may be temporarily closed, including Sokola, Zamoście, and Zamoyskiego, requiring additional bus detours.

Bus lines 102, 125, and 202 will use Targowa and Kijowska streets to the Wschodni Station loop; lines 146 and 147 will use Szczeciński Coast and Zamoście Street.

If wider closures occur, lines 135, 146, and 147 may also be diverted. Trams 7, 9, 22, and 24 will be rerouted, with part of each split into separate flows on both sides of the Vistula.

Post‑match detours and additional services

At about 22:15, Zieleniecka Avenue from Targowa Street to Washington Roundabout will close, allowing buses only.

Around 22:30, police may close the Poniatowski Bridge and Jerozolimskie Avenues from Washington Roundabout to de Gaulle Roundabout, enabling replacement bus line Z99 and other routes via Łazienkowski Bridge.

Additional bus lines 138 and 509 from Washington Roundabout will serve Bokserska, Gocław, and Winnica; Tram 9 will run two separate routes; line 26 will operate toward Cmentarzowski Cemetery.

Free public transport for match ticket holders

From 6:00 on Friday to 1:00 Saturday, holders of match tickets, invitations, or PZPN accreditation can use all Warsaw Public Transport, SKM, Mazovia Trains, and Warsaw Access Trains within ZTM 1‑zone free of charge.

Tickets can be presented in electronic or paper format and also permit free local Warsaw public transport.

Additional transport disruptions and safety measures

The match is classified as a high‑risk event; police will increase security, manage traffic, and announce any suspicious activity.

Long‑distance trains will not stop at Warsaw Central from 8 to 16 November due to modernization; they use Warsaw West, East, Gdańsk, and Main stations, with some stopping at Warsaw Śródmieście.

The city encourages use of public transport or “Park and Ride” and advises checking schedules before departure.
