Polish public sector workers—including civil servants, uniformed services, and teachers—may see only a 2.7% wage increase in 2027, prompting union demands for at least 15%.
2027 Wage Outlook and Union Demands
In 2027, public sector employees, including civil servants, uniformed services personnel, and teachers, are projected to receive a wage increase of only 2.7%. Unions are demanding a minimum increase of 15% and anticipate that the government will be more open to negotiation and substantial raises in the election year.
Macroeconomic Assumptions for 2026-2030
Andrzej Domański, the Minister of Finance and Economy, is expected to present macroeconomic assumptions for the years 2026–2030 to the Council of Ministers by the end of April 2026. These assumptions will form the basis for the draft budget law for 2027.
Representatives of employees and employers within the Social Dialogue Council will submit their positions and proposals regarding these assumptions by May 20th.
Inflation’s Impact on Wage Increases
Due to unrest in the Middle East, forecasting the inflation rate for 2027 is challenging. This rate is crucial for determining wage increases for public sector employees, including uniformed services, and teachers (whose wages are governed by a separate, related law).
Wage increases in the public sector have been based on this inflation rate for the past two years.
