A 22-year-old motorcyclist was hospitalized in critical condition after losing control and crashing onto tram tracks in Warsaw’s Bemowo district on Friday.
Motorcycle Crash on Powstańców Śląskich Street
A serious incident involving a motorcyclist occurred on Friday, April 24th, around 11:15 PM in Warsaw’s Bemowo district. The 22-year-old rider of a Suzuki motorcycle veered off the road and onto the tram tracks at the intersection of Powstańców Śląskich and Szczotkarska streets.
Preliminary findings suggest the motorcyclist was riding with a group when he lost control on a curve and ended up on the tram tracks. The incident appeared severe.
Emergency Response and Traffic Disruption
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene and provided first aid to the injured motorcyclist before transporting him to the hospital. The 22-year-old was unconscious and in critical condition.
The accident caused significant traffic disruptions, including the blockage of tram lines heading towards Połczyńska. Two lanes of traffic for cars were also closed.
Public Transportation Impact
Warsaw’s public transportation authorities reported disruptions to tram lines 10 and 26 due to the road incident. Both lines were diverted onto alternative routes.
Line 10 was rerouted via Wyścigi – Powstańców Śląskich – Radiowa – Obozowa – Wolska – Skierniewicka. Line 26 was rerouted via Wiatraczna – Powstańców Śląskich – Radiowa – Obozowa.
