23‑Year‑Old Arrested for Driving Under Influence After Visiting Mother at Sidewalk Accident

A 23‑year‑old man was arrested for driving with a blood alcohol level above 0.5 promille after driving to his mother’s sidewalk accident in Piaseczno.

Police Dispatch

The Officer of the Piaseczno District Police Command received a report that a road incident involving a woman who had been operating a bicycle had occurred on Al. Lipowa in Piaseczno. Police Traffic Division officers and a medical rescue team were dispatched immediately.

Incident at the Sidewalk

When officers arrived at the scene, the situation differed from the report: the woman was not riding a bicycle but had simply been moving it when she slipped, lost balance and fell onto the sidewalk. Medical personnel provided necessary assistance and found no need for hospitalization.

Unexpected Arrival

The intervention seemed complete until two sons of the injured woman arrived by car to look after their mother. The younger son, the driver, was found to be intoxicated.

Breathalyzer Results

A breath‑alyzer test revealed that the 23‑year‑old had a blood alcohol concentration of over 0.5 promille. He attempted to justify his actions by claiming he only had to drive two streets, but was taken to the police post while his mother and her older son went home.

Legal Consequences

The young man now faces a trial in Piaseczno. The offence carries a potential sentence of up to three years imprisonment.
