A three-year-old child died Wednesday afternoon in Nowe Szpaki, Poland, after being run over by a farm tractor.
Fatal Accident in Łosice County
On Wednesday, April 22nd, around 2:00 PM, a fatal accident occurred on private property in Nowe Szpaki, Łosice County. A three-year-old child was struck by a farm tractor and died.
Firefighters from Łosice and Platerów, a medical rescue team, and a helicopter from the Air Ambulance Service were dispatched to the scene. Resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful due to the severity of the injuries.
Police Investigation Underway
According to Police Sergeant Weronika Wujek of the Łosice County Police Headquarters, the tractor was driven by a 36-year-old man. Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident and have not released further details at this time.
Driver Hospitalized, Investigation Supervised by Prosecutor
The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of a prosecutor. Due to the driver’s emotional state, sobriety tests were not administered at the scene, and he was taken to a hospital. Further legal proceedings will be conducted after medical care is completed.
Circumstances of the Tragedy Being Determined
Investigators are currently working to determine all the circumstances of the tragedy, including how the child came to be under the wheels of the agricultural machine. Authorities have not released additional details.
