On December 8, 2025, the Masovian regional police stopped 23,568 motorists, seized licences from 23, and exposed 30 drunk drivers, also detaining two who drove despite court bans.
Operation Overview
On Monday, 8 December 2025, the Masovian police brigade launched the “Sobriety‑Local” operation aimed at restoring road safety. The campaign mobilised 559 officers, including 260 traffic police and 299 prevention officers, and was conducted across the region.
Findings and Consequences
During the checks, 23,568 breath‑alyzer tests were administered. Ninety‑two penalties were issued: 23 drivers had their licences revoked, 30 were found driving under the influence, and two were stopped for operating vehicles while under a court‑issued driving ban.
Policymakers emphasise that driving after alcohol consumption remains one of the most serious threats to road safety, and they plan to repeat such operations regularly to eliminate intoxicated drivers from the roads.
