In Warsaw, a 31‑year‑old woman lost consciousness when her electric scooter struck a tree, prompting swift first‑aid action by nearby fire and safety officers.
Witnesses at Scene
Fire‑and‑safety officers from the VII Field Unit were patrolling Dwernickiego Street when they spotted a woman lying motionless on the sidewalk. Heavy frost had left her shivering, and only after a short while did she manage to explain that she had been riding her electric scooter when a tree branch, hidden in the streetlight, struck her head. The officers promptly called for ambulance services and began administering first aid.
Immediate Medical Response
Senior Inspector Artur Dmitruk guided the officers in stabilising the injured woman, securing her head and covering her with a thermal blanket because of the severe hypothermia. They maintained a reassuring conversation as she began to lose consciousness. When emergency medical personnel arrived, they assisted in carefully moving her onto a stretcher, transporting her in an ambulance, and transporting her directly to a hospital for further treatment.
Safety Reminders
Frontal‑skull injuries are among the most frequently occurring and dangerous outcomes of riding scooters or bicycles. Although not legally required, wearing a helmet is highly advisable for personal safety. Warsaw City Fire and Safety acknowledge the importance of immediate response in such accidents.
