Police in Łódź arrested a 41‑year‑old man suspected of a series of attacks on women in two neighborhoods; all victims were women.
Suspected Perpetrator
A 41‑year‑old multirecidivist, released from prison in September 2025, was detained in a shopping centre for a robbery committed on 11 October in the Górna district. The crime involved a 62‑year‑old woman whose purse was stolen.
Police Investigation
Investigators compared evidence and linked the robberies to previous attacks in the Koziny and Żubardźw districts of Bałuty, as confirmed by the Łódź Municipal Police commando.
Confession and Motive
The suspect admitted to thefts after his release, targeting women mainly in Bałuty during morning or evening hours. He stated that the motive was to obtain money.
Potential Sentencing
Given the suspect’s multiple convictions and more than 20 years spent in prison, prosecutors warn of a sentence exceeding 20 years. A temporary detention request has been filed.
Community Fear
Social media reports detail attacks on Gandhiego, Kasprza, and Powstańców Wielkopolskich streets after dark, with victims losing purses, wallets, bank cards, phones, and keys.
Police Statement
Łódź police say they are investigating seven similar cases and believe a single individual may be responsible.
