An accident involving a railbus and train injured a 44-year-old woman and her 14-year-old child at a railway crossing in Ostrów Wielkopolski.
Accident at Railway Crossing
The incident occurred around 9 AM at a railway crossing between Daniszyn and Cegły in the Ostrów Wielkopolski commune. A passenger vehicle driven by a 44-year-old woman drove onto the crossing, where it collided with a railbus. Police Superintendent Patrycja Naczke from the Ostrów Wielkopolski District Police Headquarters confirmed the information.
The woman and child exited their vehicle before a train from Wrocław to Białystok subsequently struck the car.
Woman and Teenager Hospitalized
Six fire brigades were dispatched to the scene, along with an ambulance, police and Railway Protection Service. The 44-year-old driver was found to be sober. She and her 14-year-old child were transported to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
