47th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon This Weekend

The 47th edition of the Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon will take place on September 27–28, with around 20,000 participants.

Event Details

The main marathon (42.195 km) starts at 9:00 AM on Sunday from Świętokrzyska Street near the Palace of Culture and Science. Organizers expect record attendance and numerous cheering zones along the route.

Record Participation

This year’s event hosts the Polish National Marathon Championships for men and women, with over 11,500 marathon runners registered—a record for Polish marathons. Including 10 km races and children’s starts, around 20,000 people will participate.

Course and Facilities

The marathon loop, certified by the Polish Athletics Association (PZLA) and World Athletics, starts and ends in central Warsaw near the Palace of Culture and Science. The route passes landmarks like Old Town, Royal Route (Krakowskie Przedmieście and Nowy Świat), Poniatowski Bridge, Royal Castle, Presidential Palace, National Museum, and PGE Narodowy. Organizers have set up 42 cheering zones approximately every kilometer, with a “Marathon Fan Zone” in front of the Palace of Culture and Science.

Logistics and Safety

The race office and running village are located near the Palace of Culture and Science. Online registrations close on Saturday, September 27, at 8:00 PM (limited spots available). Pedestrian and cyclist movement will be temporarily restricted on the route, with controlled crossings supervised by security services.
