Injuries and Initial Detainees
Poznań police reported on April 3rd that a five-month-old boy was hospitalized with numerous injuries potentially indicating abuse. According to PAP, police sub-commissioner Łukasz Paterski stated that doctors reported the injuries suggested violence.
Initially, a 40-year-old Georgian woman, the child’s mother, and a 24-year-old Moldovan man were detained and remain in police custody.
Expanding Investigation
On Saturday, a spokesperson for the Greater Poland police informed “Fakt” that a third individual had been detained. No charges have been filed at this time.
Inspector Andrzej Borowiak emphasized the complexity of the case due to the different nationalities involved, requiring thorough fact-gathering. He also noted the situation unfolded over a period of time and further investigation is needed.
Child’s Condition and Medical Updates
The child is currently hospitalized in serious but stable condition. He underwent surgery on both Friday and Saturday.
TVN24 reported the child’s condition as critical. A hospital representative stated that tests revealed injuries and no spontaneous bleeding.
