5-Vehicle Pile-up Blocks Artery to City Center on Bielany

Five-vehicle collision on Marymoncka Street temporarily blocked traffic toward Warsaw’s city center on February 24th.

Incident Details

On Tuesday, February 24th, before 8:00 PM, a chain collision involving five vehicles occurred on Marymoncka Street, just before the intersection with Podleśna and Podczaszyński streets heading toward the city center. The traffic in the direction of downtown was blocked for approximately 50 minutes.

The collision happened on the lanes leading toward the city. According to information from the scene, it was a classic chain collision: a Toyota hit a Ford, which then crashed into another Toyota model Yaris. The Yaris then struck a parked Peugeot and another parked vehicle.

Emergency Response

Firefighters, police, and medical rescue teams were called to the scene. Fire secured the crash site and disconnected batteries from damaged vehicles. Traffic toward the city center was blocked – local guards also participated in securing and organizing traffic flow.

Emergency services examined the participants of the incident. There was no need for hospital transport – no one was taken from the collision site.

Aftermath and Traffic Impact

Around 8:30 PM, cleanup of the incident’s consequences began. Damaged vehicles were pushed off the roadway, and after about 50 minutes from the collision, traffic flow along Marymoncka Street toward the city center was restored.

Police continued further activities at the scene, including determining the cause of the incident.
