A 24-year-old driver was arrested in Trablice after a 50-kilometer police pursuit across two counties involving speeding, a collision, and driving under the influence of drugs while under a dual driving ban.
A Dangerous High-Speed Pursuit
On Friday evening, June 5, traffic police in Stromiec attempted to stop a Volvo traveling 59 km/h over the speed limit. The driver ignored the signal to stop and initiated a reckless escape through two counties.
The pursuit spanned from Białobrzegi onto the S7 expressway towards Radom, and eventually onto provincial road 735. Despite colliding with another vehicle at an intersection, the suspect continued to flee towards the municipality of Kowala, pursued by multiple patrol units.
Arrest and Multiple Criminal Charges
Officers eventually forced the vehicle to a stop in Trablice. The 24-year-old driver was found to have two active court-ordered driving bans. A saliva test confirmed he was under the influence of narcotics, and two 20-year-old passengers were also in the car.
The Radom resident was taken into custody, and blood samples were collected to verify the concentration of drugs. The suspect faces potential charges for failing to stop for police, violating court bans, speeding, causing a collision, and impaired driving, which could lead to a permanent loss of his driving privileges and up to five years in prison.
