Civilian Arrest in Wołomin
On Wednesday, November 5, a citizen‑initiated arrest took place in Wołomin involving a 53‑year‑old man suspected of violating Article 200 of the Polish Criminal Code. Around 20:30, police intervened and detained the individual, who remained under officers’ custody. The prosecutor has not yet answered inquiries about further actions and measures.
Alleged Pedophilic Communications
According to the arresting group, the man exchanged messages for nearly a month, convinced he was talking to a 12‑year‑old girl. The contact supposedly started on October 7, 2025, and involved sexual content and urging the recipient to send illicit material. The group claims to possess secured evidence of these conversations and states the man was repeatedly informed that the other party was a 12‑year‑old.
Use of Fake Identity and Prior Intervention Attempts
The same group reports that the individual used a fictitious female profile on a messenger platform and listed various towns as his residence. Social media posts also note that he had previously attracted the interest of similar civic initiatives. Earlier attempts to arrest him took place in a different region.
G.R.A.D. Group Conducts Arrest
The civilian arrest was carried out by G.R.A.D. Grupa Reagowania – Anioły Dzieciom, which published an extensive interview with the detained man on its website.
Police Confirmation and Legal Queries
The Wołomin County Police Command confirmed the intervention and detention on the evening of November 5. Officers routed questions to the appropriate prosecutor for detailed information. On the morning of November 7, inquiries regarding the detainee’s procedural status, potential charges, applied measures, and linkages to other proceedings were sent, but no reply had been received by publication time. A court hearing concerning the detainee’s future was scheduled for the evening of November 7.
Current Legal Status
At present, no legal qualification other than the one indicated by the reporters (Article 200) is being communicated. The crime’s classification, scope of evidence, and decisions on any preventive measures rest with the prosecutor and the court after evaluating the evidence. The newsroom remains in contact with law‑enforcement authorities and will update the story once official statements become available. Until procedures conclude, the presumption of innocence applies; the court will decide guilt.
