620,000 Beneficiaries: Medicover Foundation’s Approach to Building a Healthy Society

The Medicover Foundation’s 2025 Annual Report reveals over 620,000 individuals benefited from its initiatives across six countries, focusing on preventative healthcare and community engagement.

A Holistic Approach to Public Health

A healthy society requires more than treating illness; it demands preventative measures, health education, support for medical personnel, and active community initiatives. Daily choices, access to knowledge, and public participation are crucial for physical and mental well-being.

Building a healthy society extends beyond healthcare systems to schools, workplaces, and local communities, where attitudes and habits are formed. Effective preventative measures require consistent investment and partnerships.

Medicover Foundation’s 2025 Impact

The Medicover Foundation’s 2025 Annual Report indicates that the organization reached over 620,000 beneficiaries through projects implemented in Poland, Romania, Sweden, Bulgaria, Georgia, and Ukraine. This scale demonstrates the need for long-term strategies and consistent investment in preventative care.

Employee Volunteering and Community Support

The Foundation fosters social engagement through a robust employee volunteering program. In 2025, 670 volunteers participated in over 100 projects addressing local community needs.

This volunteering is directly aligned with Medicover’s mission of promoting health and well-being, leveraging both medical and non-medical employee skills to provide sustainable support for physical, mental, and social health. Volunteers lead educational workshops, first aid training, and support vulnerable populations.

“Volunteering gives me a great sense of purpose. When I see that my skills really help someone, I feel needed and fulfilled. This experience changes your perspective – also in everyday life,” says Marta S., a Medicover employee and Foundation volunteer.

Promoting Healthy Habits Through Education

The Foundation’s health and preventative programs aim to instill healthy habits from a young age. The FitSchool program supports schools in promoting physical activity, healthy lifestyles, and mental well-being.

FitSchool integrates short, regular physical activities into the school day, improving students’ concentration, energy levels, and overall well-being.

“I used to dislike exercise, but these short breaks during lessons made me get used to it. Now I feel like I need exercise – I have more energy and it’s easier to focus,” says Kacper, a student participating in the FitSchool program.

Investing in Nursing Development

The Foundation prioritizes the development of nursing, focusing on strengthening the skills and role of nurses and supporting innovative solutions in healthcare. It has ten years of experience with the Queen Silvia Nursing Award, which promotes innovative patient care and the development of young nurses.

From 2026, this initiative will evolve into the Nursing Impact Award, with a stronger focus on real-world impact and the advancement of modern nursing. The Foundation also develops tools to support healthcare professionals, such as the Electronic School Medicine System, which improves student care and supports nurses.

Long-Term Commitment to Societal Well-being

Building a healthy society is a long-term process requiring action beyond treatment and crisis response. Prevention, education, skill-building, and social engagement are essential for lasting change and improved quality of life for hundreds of thousands of people.

Details of the Foundation’s activities and a complete summary of its initiatives are available in the Medicover Foundation’s 2025 Annual Report.
