80 Countries, One Goal: Diplomatic Opening Strengthens Poland’s Economic Brand

Poland’s Diplomatic Opening of the Year event brought together diplomats from over 80 countries and prominent political figures to strengthen the nation’s economic presence.

Distinguished Attendance

The event’s high prestige was evident in the presence of over 600 guests, including prominent figures from politics and diplomacy. The honorary guest was Professor Jerzy Buzek, former President of the European Parliament, while participants included Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Stefan Krajewski, General Mieczysław Bieniek from the Ministry of National Defense, and representatives of key state institutions. The event was patronized by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of State Assets, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, as well as the Ministry of Development and Technology and the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy.

Global Diplomatic Representation

A strong feature was the presence of over 140 high-level diplomats, including ambassadors, charge’s d’affaires, and 20 honorary consuls, representing over 80 countries. This broad representation – from the USA and China, through European Union countries, to dynamically developing markets in Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia – emphasizes the prestigious dimension of the Diplomatic Opening of the Year (DOR) as a platform for dialogue between the world of great politics and business.

Building Poland’s International Position

The Polish Chamber of Economy (KIG) has consistently been building Poland’s position on the international stage. The Diplomatic Opening of the Year proved that KIG is a significant organization that enables Polish companies to establish secure and prospective foreign relations. By integrating business with the diplomatic corps and economic and local government, KIG actively supports the creation of a strong, recognizable brand of the Polish economy.

Global Cooperation Challenges

Currently, the process of redefining the rules of global cooperation is strongly emphasized. With experts from the Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, KGHM Polska Miedź, Mlekpol, Hynfra, and the Center for International Relations, we discussed how Polish enterprises can effectively build competitive advantage and utilize new export opportunities in global markets.

Regional and International Cooperation

The second discussion focused on cooperation between international regions and cities and building resilience in times of global instability. Participants included voivodes: Paweł Gancarz – Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Adam Struzik – Marshal of the Masovian Voivodeship, Łukasz Prokorym – Marshal of the Podlaskie Voivodeship, Marek Masalski – Deputy President of Białystok, and Adam Szponka – Deputy President of Toruń. Thanks to their participation in the Diplomatic Opening of the Year, Polish regions and cities are actively strengthening their investment potential by building direct relations with international partners and diplomacy.

KIG’s Growing Role

In the face of global changes and ongoing digitization, the role of KIG becomes even more crucial. Marek Kłoczko, President of the Polish Chamber of Economy, summarized the challenges facing the world and Poland: “Thanks to the initiatives of the Polish Chamber of Economy, cooperation between diplomacy and business continues to develop, constituting significant support for Polish expansion in foreign markets. The latest edition of the Diplomatic Opening of the Year became a forum for exchanging views on the evolving rules of global economic cooperation, development models, and building competitive advantages.”
