TV Republika allegedly broadcast nearly 1,500 discounted spots for Karol Nawrocki between March 14 and May 30, 2025, costing the station about PLN 156,000.
Expected Agreement Terms
WP found that TV Republika was reported to have aired almost 1,500 spots for Karol Nawrocki with a 95% discount from March 14 to May 30, 2025. The station would earn roughly 20 broadcasts per day, each averaging PLN 109.
The channel also earned over PLN 768,000 from online promotion of the candidate.
Spot Pricing and Discount Details
A 30‑second spot on the flagship news program “Dzisiaj” normally costs PLN 1,000, while a 68‑second Nawrocki spot would cost PLN 2,500. With the 95% discount, the price dropped to PLN 125.
Payment Structure in Five Tranches
Television Republika issued five invoices totaling more than PLN 156,000 for 1,436 television spots.
The invoices were settled in separate tranches.
Online Promotion Agreement
TV Republika signed a separate contract with Nawrocki’s committee for internet promotion from April 2 to May 16, 2025, covering YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Radio Republika, and the website, for a total of PLN 768,750.
Statement on Equal Offers
Head editor Tomasz Sakiewicz said low prices reflected “concern for candidates’ budgets” and that all parties received identical offers, with only two ultimately accepting. He claimed the rates were calculated to ensure equal treatment.
Magdalena Biejat and Anna Górska denied that TV Republika independently presented the offer; committee finance officer Tomasz Bartczak replied that the president did not use discounts with contractors.
Nawrocki’s Asset Disclosure
WP released Nawrocki’s 2024 asset statement dated September 4, 2025, showing ownership of a 57‑square‑meter apartment, half shares in a 58‑square‑meter unit, savings of PLN 180,000, and a mortgage of PLN 199,800.
The statement lists PLN 11,200 from the Rodzina 800+ programme and omits the 30‑square‑meter studio donated during the campaign.
