UN Meeting: US, Finnish Leaders React to Sikorski’s Comments on Russia

US Special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg and Finnish President Alexander Stubb discussed Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski’s remarks on Russia at the UN General Assembly in New York.

Reaction to Sikorski’s Speech

Keith Kellogg and Alexander Stubb commented on Radosław Sikorski’s statement about Russia at the UN General Assembly in New York. Kellogg said Sikorski’s comments seemed very good, while Stubb noted that Sikorski “was not too delicate.”

Kellogg added that the West will have to take on a more challenging role, which involves “even louder voicing of concerns” related to Russia’s actions.

Sikorski’s Address to the UN

Radosław Sikorski, during his speech at the UN, addressed the Russian government, stating, “I have only one request to the Russian government – if another rocket or airplane, intentionally or by mistake, enters our airspace without permission and is shot down, and its debris falls on NATO territory, please do not come here to complain. You have been warned.”

Kreml’s Response

Dmitrij Pieskow, the Kremlin’s spokesperson, commented on Sikorski’s statement, saying that accusations of Russia violating NATO airspace have not been supported by credible data. He repeated the Kremlin’s narrative that Russians comply with international aviation regulations.
