A 23-year-old driver and his passenger were injured in a nighttime crash with a moose on the A2 highway near Choszczówka Dębska.

Accident details

A serious accident occurred on the A2 highway near Choszczówka Dębska in Mińsk County on Thursday night, involving a BMW and a wild animal. The 23-year-old driver was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, while his female passenger also sustained injuries.

Collision circumstances

The incident happened around 9:30 PM. Preliminary findings indicate the car was traveling on a straight section of the road when a moose suddenly ran onto the highway. The force of the collision was so strong that the driver lost consciousness and was transported to the hospital in a serious condition. The 23-year-old female passenger also required hospitalization.

Driver’s condition and tests

The man was licensed to drive. Due to his health condition, his blood was taken for alcohol and drug testing.

Emergency response

Three fire brigades, two medical rescue teams, and the police responded to the scene. Traffic towards Siedlce was completely blocked during the emergency operations.
