Russian Media Mogul Tigran Keosayan Dies at 59

Tigran Keosayan, the husband of pro-Kremlin media figure Margarita Simonyan, has passed away after being in a coma.

Health Struggles and Death

Tigran Keosayan died on Friday, September 26, at the age of 59. In January, his wife, Margarita Simonyan, revealed that he had suffered a clinical death and fallen into a coma. Keosayan had been battling cardiological issues for some time.

Support for Russian Invasion

Keosayan was a film director, producer, and television presenter. Alongside his wife, he supported the actions of the Russian government. Simonyan, known as the “media tsarina,” heads the pro-Kremlin RT (formerly “Russia Today”). Both publicly backed Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. In 2022, Keosayan was sanctioned by the European Union for “spreading anti-Ukrainian propaganda in Russian media.”

Filmography and Career

Among the films directed by Keosayan are “Poor Sasha,” “The President and His Granddaughter,” and “Crimean Bridge. Made with Love!” As a TV presenter, he worked for channels REN TV, Rossiya, and NTV.
