Driver of electric Mini Cooper crashes into tram on Białołęka

A private car collided with a tram on the Światowida street near the Białołęcki Sports Center.

Collision details

A Mini Cooper driver failed to yield and drove directly into an oncoming tram. The car carried a man and a child returning from a sports training session.

Injuries and response

Medical responders examined the boy, finding no injuries requiring hospitalization. Three fire brigades, a medical team, Warsaw Tramway Supervision, and police were on-site.

Traffic was halted in both directions for the duration of the operation, with cars moving in a shuttle system.

Service disruptions

WTP reported delays for tram lines 2 and 17 due to the accident near the Światowida/Mehoffera intersection.

Trams were rerouted: Line 2 followed Metro Młociny – al. Wittek – Marymoncka – Słowackiego – Metro Marymont. Line 17 took the route Marymoncka – al. Wittek – Metro Młociny.
