Russian missile strikes Polish embassy in Kyiv

A small-caliber projectile pierced the consular section of Poland’s embassy in Kyiv, causing minor damage.

Embassy damage confirmed

A small-caliber projectile or its fragment pierced the roof of the Polish embassy’s consular section in Kyiv, said Paweł Wroński, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The building’s exterior and interior ceiling were damaged, with the projectile landing in a kitchen area. The embassy continues operations under the leadership of chargé d’affaires Piotr Łukasiewicz, with minimal losses reported.

Massive attack on Kyiv

Russia launched a significant attack on Kyiv overnight, damaging residential buildings and industrial facilities. Fragments of drones fell on streets and vehicles, injuring at least 15 people and killing four, including a child. This was one of the largest Russian strikes on Kyiv since the war began. Air raid alerts were issued across multiple Ukrainian regions.

Poland scrambles fighter jets

Polish and allied fighter jets were scrambled in response to Russia’s attacks on Ukraine, as a precautionary measure. Airspace near Lublin and Rzeszów was closed. The Operational Command of the Armed Forces stated that standby fighter pairs and ground-based air defense systems were placed on high alert. These actions aim to secure airspace and protect citizens, particularly near threatened areas. Authorities are monitoring the situation, with forces ready for immediate response.
