Dramatic fall of 14-year-old on electric scooter; police urge: helmet could save a life

A 14-year-old boy lost consciousness after a scooter accident in Kozienice, prompting police to emphasize the importance of wearing helmets.

Accident details

On Friday (26.09), a 14-year-old boy riding a scooter lost control and fell, striking his head on a hard surface. He was not wearing a helmet and lost consciousness. Witnesses and emergency responders provided immediate assistance, and the boy regained consciousness before being transported to a hospital in Radom.

Police warning

The incident occurred around 6:50 PM. Police stated that the boy was riding on a sidewalk when he lost control of the scooter. They emphasized that electric and traditional scooters, while popular among young people, pose serious risks, especially when safety measures like helmets are ignored.

Safety appeal

Officers urged parents and guardians to remind young scooter users to wear helmets and protective gear, such as elbow and knee pads. They stressed that even a minor fall can be fatal if the head is unprotected. Police also reminded that scooters are not toys and require adherence to traffic rules and proper caution to avoid serious injuries.
