A 6-year-old boy called the emergency number 112 in the early hours of Tuesday, September 30. Police found the child barefoot and wearing only underwear outside a shop in Lesko, Podkarpackie Voivodeship.
Child Leaves Home Due to Intoxicated Mother
The boy explained he left home because his mother was drunk. Police contacted his father and handed the child over to his care. In the apartment, officers found a 31-year-old woman sleeping with 1.28 per mille of alcohol in her blood.
Family Court to Handle the Case
Police confirmed the woman is the boy’s mother. Initially, she claimed to live alone and couldn’t say where her son was. She was taken to the police station in Lesko. The family court will now handle the case, and police are investigating whether similar neglect has occurred before.
