Ukrainian Man Bites Police Vehicle in Sochaczew

A 28‑year‑old Ukrainian passenger bit the door of a Polish police vehicle in Sochaczew on Sunday, September 28, prompting police shock and legal action.

Incident Details

Police received a report of a drunken and aggressive Ukrainian citizen threatening two other Ukrainians. Officers from Teresin were dispatched, and the 28‑year‑old continued to act impulsively, slamming the vehicle door, grabbing the seal with his teeth and biting off a fragment, also damaging the paintwork.

The Ukrainian was taken into police custody and faced three charges: unlawful threats and property damage. Prior encounters with the law led the Sochaczew County Police Chief to submit a request to the Border Guard for a decision to require the man to return to Ukraine. On Tuesday, September 30, he was handed over to Ukrainian border services.

Police Reaction

Officers expressed surprise at the behavior. They noted that police vehicles are used in many conditions and have handled many difficult situations, but biting was “something they have never experienced before,” as said by the police.
