Filiks’ Vulgar Mistake
Poland 2050’s Paweł Śliz posted on Tuesday 30 September announcing that his candidate, Katarzyna Pełczyńska‑Nałęcz, would become the new deputy prime minister. He wrote, “Go forward like one fist.” The tweet was followed by a comment from co‑chair Magdalena Filiks, who wrote, “More like a headless chicken running at the back of the fence and crushing everything along the way.”
Śliz replied, “Next time, Magda Filiks, offer a deep breath and some class.” Filiks later clarified that the comment contained a typo; the intended phrase was “kura z obciętą głową,” a Polish rendering of the English idiom “run around like a headless chicken,” meaning chaotic behaviour in panic.
Pełczyńska‑Nałęcz Answers Filiks
Minister of Funds and Regional Policy Katarzyna Pełczyńska‑Nałęcz also weighed in, stating that politics is a field for people with strong nerves, and that vagrancies “lead nowhere.” She added, “Where there is a headless chicken, the rooster is silent.”
Afterward, Filiks posted further remarks: “It’s even worse than I thought. The MP made a typo and deleted it after 60 seconds. Mr. Hołowni copied. They do it. Another day—the minister and MPs from Hołowni drop a deleted comment with a typo onto X deliberately. Serious party. Deputy prime minister.”
Deputy Minister Comments
Deputy Minister of Funds and Regional Policy Jan Szyszko, in an interview with “Wprost,” said, “This is not the language of public debate; everything inside me is breaking apart,” and added that it is “an incitement to inflame tensions within the coalition.” He warned that emotional tweets could undermine the ability to deliver 1,000 “super projects.”
