On the night of 4 October, the Polish Military Gendarmerie confirmed the discovery of drone fragments in Zaręby Warchoły, Masovia, prompting local police to secure the site and alert prosecutors.
Military Gendarmerie reports drone fragments
On the night of 4 October, the Polish Military Gendarmerie announced that fragments of an unidentified aerial object had been found near the settlement of Zaręby Warchoły in Ostrow County, Masovian Voivodeship. The unit, operating under the supervision of the prosecutor from the Military Affairs Division of the Warsaw‑Ursynów district prosecutor’s office, is conducting investigations at the site.
Local police secure site and notify prosecutors
The Radom Provincial Police Command released a statement confirming that a man observed the drone‑like fragments at about 18:00 on Saturday. Police secured the object and the surrounding area, with the nearest building being an uninhabited house, and notified both the Military Gendarmerie and the prosecutor’s office. Officers urged the public to report any similar findings.
Earlier incidents in Masovia and beyond
Last month, the Military Gendarmerie reported a similar discovery in Wielki Łęck, Warmia‑Masuria. Earlier, on 20‑21 September, drone‑like fragments were found in Korsze (Warmia‑Masuria), the Biała Góra forest (Masovia), Wodynie (Masovia), and Sulmiaki (Lublin).
Possible link to September 9‑10 drone incursion
All these findings may be related to the night of 9‑10 September, when at least a dozen Russian drones entered Polish airspace, several of which were shot down by Polish and allied combat aircraft.
