On 6 October, police conducted an intervention at the Poznań Provincial Hospital after a reader of ePoznan.pl reported that neurologists were taken out in handcuffs. The woman wrote, “Today at the Poznań Provincial Hospital, neurologists were taken out in handcuffs, do you know something about this?”
Neurologist detained
Junior sergeant Anna Klój of the Poznań police confirmed that one of the hospital’s department heads was detained and that other individuals were also held in connection with the case. The hospital released a statement saying the actions concerned a contract employee and that it was cooperating with authorities.
Prosecutor detailing the case
Prosecutor Łukasz Wawrzyniak of the Poznań District Prosecutor’s Office said the investigation involves six suspects accused of falsifying medical records and using them in court proceedings. Radio Poznań reported that the situation could have a corrupt dimension.
