Next week, Karol Nawrocki is set to summon the government to a Cabinet Council meeting, with a preliminary agenda outlining the president’s core issues to address in the discussion.
Karol Nawrocki: Formal Invitations Coming Soon
President Nawrocki stated on Polsat News that he has already sent an invitation to Prime Minister Donald Tusk for a Cabinet Council meeting, which will be held in the Sejm. Formal invitations will be dispatched shortly, and the meeting will focus on discussing Poland’s future challenges and opportunities.
During his address right after taking the oath, Nawrocki highlighted a desire to discuss developmental investments, critical national projects, and public finances. He expressed feeling obligated to remain fully informed about the country’s status.
Upcoming Cabinet Council: Unofficial Plans
Wp.pl reports that the President’s Office will dispatch invitations next week. The president intends to ask the prime minister about several key topics, including controversies surrounding National Reconstruction Plan subsidies, government plans for judicial reform, energy prices and wind turbine projects, as well as flagship ventures such as the Central Communication Port and state security matters like border protection and geopolitical situations.
The president also plans to brief the government on the dates for a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump on September 3, and to assess which of his proposed bills may secure legislative approval.
Karol Nawrocki’s Legislative Initiatives
Three new legislative initiatives have entered Parliament. The first concerns the Central Communication Port, reviving the investment shape planned under PiS. The other two propose a zero‑tax threshold for families with at least two children, raising the second tax bracket to 140,000 PLN, and extending the ban on selling Polish land to foreigners for an additional ten years until 2036.
What Is the Cabinet Council?
According to the Polish Constitution, the President may convene a Cabinet Council for matters of special importance. The Cabinet Council is composed of the Council of Ministers, presided over by the President. Notably, the Cabinet Council does not possess the powers of the Council of Ministers.
