Kaczyński Urges PiS MPs to Join Planned Rally Despite Low Enthusiasm

Polish leader Jarosław Kaczyński urged PiS parliamentarians to join a demonstration on October 11, but MPs admitted limited interest and logistical obstacles.

Planned PiS Demonstration

The march is scheduled for October 11, 14:00, on Pl. Zamkowe in Warsaw. Speaker Jarosław Kaczyński called for participation on July 7, warning that the migration pact poses a real danger, the Mercosur agreement threatens agriculture, and politicians manipulate the judiciary, imperiling opposition.

Limited Participation from PiS MPs

One MP said he did not even notice the march and is busy with his work, adding “we haven’t fired up the issue.” Another remarked that while the government has done nothing for farmers, it is too early to protest on the streets. A third MP noted that mobilizing a bus for the event would barely be possible.

Mercosur Agreement Concerns

Poland opposes the EU–Mercosur free‑trade pact, arguing it could flood the market with cheaper food. The EU approved the deal a month ago and intends to vote on it in December; Poland seeks allies to block it and also needs Parliament’s approval to become fully effective.
