Chaos in the Justice Committee
The Justice and Human Rights Committee was set to review budget provisions for key institutions such as the Office for Personal Data Protection, the Supreme Court, the Supreme Administrative Court, the Constitutional Tribunal and the Parliamentary Inspector. During the session, MP Paweł Szrot asked for a pause to enable chairman Paweł Śliz (Polska 2050) to contact deputy chairman Paweł Suski (KO).
Break Request and Rescheduling
The requested intermission was declined, and the subcommittee meeting on the bill abolishing penalties for Polish volunteers fighting for Ukrainian independence was postponed, even though it had been planned for Thursday.
Tension over Volunteer Legislation
The dispute involved a subcommittee of the National Defense and Human Rights Committees overseeing the volunteer bill. MP Szrot quoted a short amendment prepared with MP Jabloński, while chairman Śliz questioned how the matter related to the budget, ultimately ordering a one‑minute break.
Explosion of Profanity
When the vote to close the session was taken, chairman Śliz—believing his microphone was muted—took out a flurry of curses, blaming MP Tomasz Zimoch. He shouted, “Kur… to przez tego pierd… Zimocha. K… mać.”
Public Apology
Śliz later acknowledged responsibility for his words on X, apologized to Zimoch, and pledged that a similar incident would not recur.
