Polish MP Paweł Śliz publicly castigated colleague Tomasz Zimoch with profanity during a Sejm committee meeting, asserting his microphone had been off and denying an apology in the media.
Apology Toward Mother
Śliz apologized to his mother via text, admitting he had used foul language during the session. He said he felt “ashamed” and recalled his mother’s strong reaction. He noted she had never used profanity at home, causing a family quarrel whenever any member spoke badly.
Zimoch Does Not Accept Apology
The chairman of the Poland 2050 club told Polsat News that, despite disagreements, he values Zimoch’s work. Śliz described him as “specific, stubborn” yet praised his performance. He called Zimoch, saying “Tomek, I’m sorry, this should not happen,” but Zimoch declined the apology.
Śliz declared the apology in social media posts and said he would not shy from saying “sorry” if anything went wrong. He added that any mistake should be tackled immediately.
Turmoil in the Justice Committee
On 15 October, the Justice and Human Rights Committee debated the 2026 budget bill, focusing on the Constitutional Tribunal and Supreme Court. Opposition MPs requested a recess, which the committee majority granted. Śliz, unaware his microphone was on, shouted profanity, noting a former Poland 2050 MP was present but did not vote.
