Uber Driver Plows Into Road Crew Near Warsaw, Two Injured

An Uber driver collided with road maintenance workers on Highway 7 north of Warsaw before 9 a.m., leaving two people injured.

Incident Location and Timing

Before 9 a.m. on National Road No. 7 at the Janki junction (Pruszków County) toward the S8 route, a serious collision involving three vehicles occurred. Two people were injured, and traffic toward Warsaw experienced significant delays.

Collision Details

The incident happened on a bend in the road toward Warsaw. Preliminary findings indicate that a 23‑year‑old Azerbaijani citizen driving a Toyota operated for Uber failed to adjust his speed to road conditions and struck a left‑lane Volkswagen belonging to the road maintenance service. The impact moved the technical vehicle into the standing Ford ahead, also a road‑maintenance vehicle.

Victims and Condition

As a result of the crash, the Toyota driver and a road‑maintenance employee present in the Volkswagen were taken to hospital. The Toyota driver was sober and possessed the required permits.

Investigation and Traffic Impact

Fire brigade units and medical rescue teams intervened on scene. The investigation, covering circumstances and exact sequence, is being conducted by police. During police work, two lanes toward Warsaw were blocked, causing temporary congestion.
