Tusk Claims Polish Voters Still Back Him After Two Years in Office

Donald Tusk appeared on Onet’s “Wojewódzki Kędzierski” and said that Polish voters have not turned away from him after two years in office.

Tusk defends his two-year record

During the interview, Tusk welcomed the question of whether people had turned away after two years. He compared his popularity to that of European leaders—Macron, Merkel, Starmer, and Orbán—claiming a trust level of about 30–40 % among Poles. “I am not being fooled that people have turned from us; that is untrue,” he said.

Tusk calls for an ethical justice balance

He stressed that restoring an ethical equilibrium means an independent judiciary, where judges and prosecutors decide who sits in court, not commentators like Kuba Wojewódzki, Tusk, and Piotr Kędzierski. Tusk rejected being a “Bąkiewicz” and said he entered politics to prevent those who “administer simplified realities” from ruling Poland.

Tusk claims critics fear him

Asked about criticism of his two-year term, Tusk said the real survey of his spirit comes from opponents like PiS and Konfederacja, not disappointed voters. “If anyone is afraid in Poland, it’s me,” he added, dismissing fear of a lazy, dismayed old man.

Tusk examines Trzaskowski’s campaign loss

Tusk admitted he’d “quickly” realised the KO campaign was losing. He said that perfect execution could have swung 150–200 thousand votes, yet the government lacked the “temperament of Minister Żur.” He expressed pride in Adam Bodnar, who believed civilised methods could restore legal civilisation, but later acknowledged that was false.

Tusk reacts to Hołowni–Kaczyński meeting

When asked how he felt about Szymon Hołowni’s July night meeting with Jarosław Kaczyński at Adam Bielan’s house, Tusk said he felt “a slight nausea.” He called the nighttime fraternising a result of symmetry and criticised Hołowni’s actions for being “low‑level” and “demeaning,” noting that Kaczyński’s lofty patriotism had been shown as small gestures at that night.
