U.S. President Donald Trump posted an AI‑generated video critiquing protesters on social media in response to massive demonstrations across the country on October 18.
Trump releases AI‑generated video
In the clip, the former president sits under a royal crown at the controls of a fighter aircraft named “KingTrump”, bombing the streets with brown liquid. Kenny Loggins’ “Danger Zone”, known from “Top Gun”, plays in the background. Trump claims the footage was produced by artificial intelligence.
He had earlier criticised the protests in a Fox News interview, saying, “They say I’m a king, I’m not a king.” The video was shared on his social‑media profiles on the day of the demonstrations.
Republican responses to the protests
Republican figures, including Vice President J.D. Vance, posted AI‑generated videos mocking protesters, showing Trump donning a crown and cape while Democrats, such as Nancy Pelosi, stare in derision. The Guardian notes most Republicans remained silent about the protests. White House officials have censured the demonstrations, and the White House press office said the events “obviously affect nobody.”
Nationwide protests in the United States
Hundreds of thousands of people marched on October 18 across all 50 states, holding over 2,500 events under the banner “No Kings.” Protesters shouted pro‑democratic slogans, condemned Trump’s policies, opposed anti‑immigrant measures, the deployment of the National Guard, and federal budget cuts—especially in healthcare.
They emphasized that Trump cannot claim to be a king and warned of threats to democracy posed by his administration.
