At about 3 a.m. on 19 October 2025, the collision occurred on the stretch of Aleje Jerozolimskie near Poznańska Street in the Śródmieście district.

The Collision

The Mercedes, driven by the Ukrainian, struck the rear of a Toyota that was being used for passenger transport, just before a pedestrian crossing.

Alleged Alcohol Influence

Witnesses reported that the Mercedes driver tried to escape on foot, but was apprehended after a brief pursuit. A breathalyser test revealed a blood alcohol level exceeding 2 promille, leading to his arrest.

Injured Driver of the Toyota

The 36‑year‑old driver of the Toyota was taken to a hospital with bodily injuries resulting from the impact.

Traffic Disruption

Following the incident, two traffic lanes heading toward Ochota were blocked, causing a temporary halt in traffic flow.
