1½‑Year‑Old Dies After CPR at Private Daycare in Kołobrzeg

Tragedy in the Daycare

On Monday, 20 October, a private nursery in Kołobrzeg (West Pomeranian Voivodeship) experienced a tragedy when a caregiver noticed a young girl was cyanotic and not breathing. The caretaker immediately began CPR, according to the spokesperson of the County Police, Station Sergeant Pamela Borkowska. The infant was reported to have stopped circulating.

Over an Hour of Resuscitation

Medical rescue teams, the fire brigade, and a helicopter ambulance from Szczecin were dispatched. After an hour‑long attempt, the child did not regain life. Captain Wojciech Grudzień said a substitute firefighter had been dispatched to a 1½‑year‑old whose pulse had stopped, and the medical team was already on site upon arrival.

Police and a prosecutor are present at the scene. Investigators and specialists will determine the cause of the child’s death.
