Infamous Ford Driver Back on the Streets; Collision Case Heads to Court

At about 10 a.m. on the Puławska–Niepodległości–Wilanów intersection, a silver Ford taxi collided with a woman’s Toyota, and police will forward the evidence to court.

The Collision

At about 10 a.m. on the intersection of Puławska Street, Independence Avenue and Wilanowska Street, a silver Ford driven by a taxi driver hit a Toyota driven by a woman. Police could not determine fault on the spot; full documentation will be sent to court to assess the parties’ responsibility.

Tactical Lane Change Leading to Contact

The vehicles made contact while changing lanes at one of the city’s most complex junctions, often dubbed by drivers as a spot frequented by ‘reckless drivers’. According to reports we accessed, when the Toyota was changing lanes, the Ford driver intentionally accelerated to hit its side/rear. Police on site could not identify the culprit amid conflicting accounts. Evidence—documentation, possible vehicle recordings and surveillance footage, and statements from participants and witnesses—will be submitted to court to determine liability.

Witness Patterns and Cash Settlements

Witness reports and media descriptions consistently show a similar pattern. Incidents mostly occur during lane changes and merging, around roundabouts and multi‑lane intersections with heavy traffic. At the critical moment, the silver Ford abruptly accelerated or briefly braked, leading to a side impact. After the collision, the Ford driver—according to victims and editorial accounts—offered a quick cash settlement without calling authorities, citing “indisputable evidence” from his own recordings. In part of the intervention, police referred the case to court.

Legal Basis under Article 3

Such incidents are evaluated, among other factors, through Article 3 of the Road Traffic Act (“Road Conduct Rules”). The provision states: “A road user and any other person on the road must exercise caution, or where the law requires, special caution, avoid any action that could create a danger to safety or road order, obstruct that order, or disturb public peace, and expose anyone to harm. Action includes omission as well.” This general rule applies when assessing any driver’s maneuvers, regardless of whether they are the culprit or the presumed victim.

The Ford Driver’s Growing Infamy

The case gained notoriety in spring 2025 when Warsaw media began reporting minor fender‑benders involving the silver Ford bearing a rooftop “TAXI” sign. Victim accounts repeatedly mentioned proposals for on‑scene settlements at fixed amounts. On 26 July 2025, a collision at the Tybet Roundabout (intersection of Kasprzak and Century Avenue) resulted in the case being sent to court, according to local reporting. By late September, this pattern was also linked to incidents outside the capital, notably in the Pruszków and Wołomin districts, where—based on reports—the culprit avoided calling police and demanded cash settlements.

Court Action in Mokotów

Proceedings for the Mokotów collision will be conducted in court. Collected materials—measurements, photographs, recordings, and statements from participants and witnesses—will be evaluated. A decision on whether the act was intentional or a lane‑change error will be reached after evidence analysis under applicable laws, including Article 3 of the Road Traffic Act.
