Exercise “Sokrates 25” Set for Thursday
On Thursday, 23 October, the Security and Civil Defence program will conduct drills in Warsaw and nearby Pruszków under the codename “Sokrates 25.” The drills are part of the broader Program of Population Protection and Civil Defence.
The government’s Security Centre warns that the exercises should not be mistaken for a real threat. Spokesperson Piotr Błaszczyk noted that drones and pyrotechnics may be used, potentially creating loud noise and smoke.
Officials appeal for calm, urging residents to obey instructions and not interfere with the work during the drills. Alerts were sent to residents in the affected areas.
Purpose of the Exercise
The activities will be prominently visible on Domaniewska Street in Pruszków and Koszykowa Street in Warsaw. Participating units include police investigators, workers from Warsaw Water Works, and staff from the city hall.
The drills aim to improve the response of Warsaw Water Works and other services to potential threats and to assist residents in the event of a crisis.
