On Monday, Oct. 20 at about 6 p.m., Bogatynia City Guard received a report of three aggressive dogs attacking a boy on Armii Krajowej Street and released a recording of the event.
Incident Report
At around 18:00 on Monday, October 20, the Bogatynia City Guard shift received a report that three aggressive dogs were poised to attack a boy near Armii Krajowej Street. The guard dispatched a patrol immediately, which confirmed the sighting.
Immediate Response
Upon arrival, officers subdued the dogs, which were then taken to a veterinarian. The owner of the animals was identified; he will face the District Court in Zgorzelec for a misdemeanor under Article 77 of the Polish Code of Offences regarding lack of precaution in keeping a pet.
Video Evidence
A recording from the incident site was released, showing the child walking along the sidewalk with three small dogs following him. The dogs attacked the boy, prompting a passing driver to halt, scare the dogs, and assist the child.
Owner Held Accountable
The owner is charged with violating the Code of Offences for failing to exercise due care with his pets, an offense punishable by imprisonment, a fine, or a reprimand.
Appeal to Witnesses
City Guard officials urged any witnesses or injured parties to report to the City Guard office at 29 Ul. Daszyńskiego, Bogatynia. They also thanked the driver for his civic intervention, describing it as a commendable act.
