Car Fire on Century Priester Avenue Blocks Morning Traffic

A Volkswagen suffered a fire on the first hour of the morning on Century Priester Avenue in Czorsztyn after the engine caught fire; traffic was halted until firefighters and passing drivers managed the blaze.

Incident on 23 October

Today, October 23, before 8 a.m. on Century Priester Avenue – behind the intersection with Czorsztyn Street – a Volkswagen passenger car caught fire. The blaze started in the engine compartment while the vehicle was moving; the driver pulled over and began extinguishing it.

Initial Attempts to Control Fire

Smoke began escaping from the hood of the vehicle. The driver used a vehicle fire extinguisher, and passing drivers joined the efforts. The attempts only managed to suppress the flames – the fire could not be fully extinguished.

Firefighters Arrive and Extinguish Blaze

A single fire‑fighting squad was dispatched. Upon arrival, firefighters located the source of the blaze under the car’s hood and quickly extinguished it. The operation concluded, and after about an hour from the call, the squad returned to the station.
