Another Waste Dump Fire Breaks Out in Sokołow Within the Year

A fire erupted at the Sokołow waste dump on the night of October 26, 2025, with no injuries reported.

Incident Timing and Response

On the night of Saturday to Sunday, October 26, a fire broke out at the waste dump on Wacław Street in Sokołow, Pruszków County. Firefighters from Pruszków responded, and no casualties were reported.

The alarm came at about 2:38 a.m.; initially four crews were dispatched, ultimately thirteen responded. The blaze was contained, but extinguishing work lasted until Sunday morning.

Fire Characteristics and Extent

The fire covered an estimated 20 × 30 m area, burning through the pile and spreading outward. The heat spread from inside the pile to the surrounding area.

Recurring Fires at the Site

This incident was the fourth at the same dump in 2025. Fires had also occurred on February 16–17 (pile ~45 × 45 m, dozens of crews), March 24 (pile ~60 × 40 m, ~10 m high), and May 26 (operations involved 8–10 crews). The dump is located in Michałowice municipality.
