Police Record 20 Truck Overtake Infractions on A2 in Three Hours

Within three hours, the drone‑based patrol on the A2 motorway documented 20 instances of prohibited overtaking by heavy trucks. The enforcement operation resulted in 17 fines and 24,500 PLN in total penalties, and a licence was revoked.

Operation Details: Date, Location and Teams Involved

On Tuesday, 21 October, officers from the County Police Department in Żyrardów, together with the Provincial Police Headquarters staff in Radom, carried out the drone‑driven traffic control on the A2 motorway. Their objective was to monitor compliance with the ban on truck overtaking.

Immediate Police Response on the Ground

Upon observing the drone footage, officers dispatched a patrol vehicle that reacted promptly, leading to the enforcement actions described above.

Other Infractions Detected and Penalties Imposed

In addition to the 20 overtaking infractions, a truck driver’s licence was suspended for exceeding the legal penalty‑point limit. Three individuals were found without seatbelts, and four drivers were operating trucks in poor technical condition. The total amount of fines issued was 24,500 PLN.
